Create an app that allows people to enjoy their favorite movie snacks without leaving their seats. With this app, customers can skip the lines and pre-order their snacks. They can even have their snacks delivered directly to their seats during the movie.

01 Discover.
Problem statement.
Ordering snacks at the movies is stressful and time-consuming. To avoid missing any parts of the movie, people may not want to leave the room, causing anxiety about waiting in line and arriving early.
Target audience.
The app targets convenience-seeking moviegoers, tech-savvy individuals, time-conscious viewers, families and groups, and movie enthusiasts who want convenient snack ordering options.

The task is to sign up and verify the account. Based on this scenario, We created user flow and task flow as below :
04 Design.
Typography.
Font poppins was likely chosen for its modern, clean, and versatile design. It's easy to read and has a wide range of weights and styles, making it ideal for both headings and body text.
Color.
Wireframe.
The process regarding the wireframes was conducted in the way that few lo-fi wireframes were made before they were emerged together. Then based on the final pick from the lo-fi wireframes it was smooth to make the mid-fi wireframes.
Interface design.
Availability
The display of ads and promotion of certain food products on the home screen makes them more accessible and visible to users, increasing the likelihood that they will consider and possibly choose those products.
Principle of visibility
A prominent display is provided on the product detail screen with options to add and customize the order, as well as the image and description of the product. This makes the relevant information and actions easily visible and accessible for the user.
Flexibility and efficiency of use
Filters and ratings help users quickly find desired products by customizing their search and identifying relevant food options. This provides a more efficient and tailored user experience.
Perceived Progress
Showing a progress bar allows users to track the progress of their order and manage their expectations, while the "edit order" option lets them modify their order even after it has been placed.
Confirmation
Displaying a receipt with order details after successful completion of payment serves as a confirmation to the user that their order has been processed correctly and that the payment has been successfully received.
05 Test.
Usability.
To understand the strengths and weaknesses of the app, Users were observed as they use it. Factors to measure include how they fail or succeed in performing tasks, the time taken to complete them, and deviations from intended use. The fundamental goal of usability testing is to produce highly usable products and services.
Recommendations.
Based on the feedback and suggestions received during usability testing, we will be making the following design changes to the app:
● Streamlining the sign-in process to make it more intuitive and user-friendly.
● Increasing the button sizes for ordering process to help users understand what actions they need to take.
● Simplifying the payment and delivery options to reduce confusion and make the process more straightforward.
● Highlight the subtotal before the user processed with payment
● We will continue to iterate and improve the app based on user feedback and testing results.
Take away.
Through the Movie Munchies app case study, I learned the importance of conducting usability testing to evaluate an app's effectiveness and usability. Testing with target users allowed me to identify areas of confusion and make informed decisions to improve the app and provide a better user experience. The testing methodology was effective and allowed for thorough analysis and prioritization of changes. The process took three weeks, and I made recommendations to improve search, checkout, and snack options. Overall, this case study demonstrated the value of usability testing in improving app design and user experience.
